Remington Hypersonic Steel

I had the great pleasure in finding a box of Remington's new Hypersonic Steel Waterfowl shotshells this year. Every store that had them listed as available online, didn't have them in the stores. Asking the representatives behind the counters, most of them stated they only received a case to put on the floor and it was gone within a couple days. A buddy of mine was over in Columbus, Indiana and just happened to go into the Rural King, and saw a single box of 3 1/2" BB, promptly bought it for me to try out in my new gun.

If you don't know anything about Remington Hypersonic Steel, it is the new for 2011 from Remington, it boasts an impressive FPS of 1700! Currently it only comes in BB, #2, and #4 shot, and runs about $27.99 a box for 3 1/2". A little on the expensive side but I wanted to try every premium shell in my new Mossberg 935 this year to see how it handled them.

Shooting them through the Mossberg 935, the felt recoil was standard of any other 3 1/2" shell, I had a light fleece jacket on and wasn't sore after several 3 successive shots. One thing is for sure these shells are fast, first few birds I shot in front of due to giving these shells too much forward lead. Anything inside of 30 yards, put the bead on the beak and pull the trigger.

I didn't notice slaying more birds using this ammunition and for the price I can't justify using it all season, but for the price its not bad to buy a box for testing purposes.

Below you will find a video of the new Remington Hypersonic Steel.
